ARC

ARC - 1200hrs - cold, grey, drizzle, still - A grim old start to the week with the rain set in for the afternoon. However, plenty to see from Hanson with stacks of common wildfowl on the water including several Pintail and a dozen Goldeneyes. To add interest, singles of Bewick`s Swan, Smew and Great White Egret came and went, and a couple of Marsh Harriers settled on the islands. A passerine flock around the Willow Trail comprised a decent range of tits, including 15 Long-taileds, 5 Goldcrests and one each of Firecrest and Chiffchaff. Had good views of a Cetti`s Warbler on the walk back to the car park, plus two Green Woodpeckers and a Sparrowhawk.
On the point the Glaucous and Caspian Gulls were again noted near the fishing boats.
