Woodcock

Dungeness - mild, wet and windy, sw 4 - Following a period of dry weather the rain returned today as the wind swung round to a south-westerly vector. A circuit of Long Pits delivered a Firecrest in the bushes and a Woodcock flushed from the willows at the southern end, otherwise very little noted due to the brisk wind.
A walk down the back of Tower pits was equally quiet with just a few Song Thrushes and Long-tailed Tits, a Snipe and a flyover Great White Egret to show for our troubles. On the local patch a redhead Smew on north lake was the only noteworthy bird.
